Wind & Pollen Compass
A beautiful, gyroscope-responsive compass that visualizes wind direction, speed, and airborne pollen — all reacting to how you hold your phone.
Gyroscope-Responsive Design
The compass responds to your device's physical orientation using CoreMotion. Tilt your phone and the compass subtly reacts, creating a 3D-parallax feeling. The wind direction arrow points where the wind is blowing to, while the compass ring rotates like a real compass using your device's heading — so north always faces true north.
Wind Visualization
Animated wind particles flow across the compass face following the actual wind direction and speed. Stronger winds produce more particles moving faster. Gusts are visualized with periodic bursts of accelerated particles, pulsing with the real gust data from weather APIs.

Pollen Particle System
When pollen data is available, colored pollen particles overlay the wind visualization. Each pollen type has its own color — tree pollen, grass pollen, and weed pollen are all distinguishable at a glance. The density of particles maps directly to the pollen level, so you can see at a glance whether it's a mild or severe pollen day.
Alignment Haptics
When you physically rotate to face the wind direction, the compass triggers a subtle haptic feedback and a visual alignment indicator. It's a satisfying moment of connection between the digital and physical worlds — you're literally facing the wind.
Embedded Card
The Wind Compass lives as a card in the main weather dashboard, sitting alongside your other weather data. It's always visible and always responding to your movement. No need to navigate to a separate screen — the wind data is right there, alive and breathing.
